PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS - Ronda the Forest Saver
1. Materials
The structure.
The structure is made of:
- Heavy- duty galvanized steel pipes, (diameter 28 m/m, wall thickness 1(,)(.)25 m/m).
- The weight is 65 kg/ unit
- The elements of the structure are colour - coded for easy erection
- The structure is termite resistant
The cover.
The cover is made of:
- UV- resistant polyester/ PVC tarpaulin
- Weight 550 gr/ m2
- Tear resistance 280 N (DIN 53363)
- Tensile strength 1700/ 1500 N/ 5 cm (DIN 53354)
- Adhesion 100 N/ 5 cm
- Flame retardationis satisfactory. (Flame restraining- SIS 650082)
- Temperature resistance +70 degrees C,-30 degrees C (DIN 53361)
- The cover is provided with a ”split” door (150 cm high) and window 60x 60 cm which has a moskito net.
- The cover can be rolled up for better ventilation during a day
- Colour of the cover: free choice (white, green, sand yellow etc.)
Permanent house built with local materials.
- The Ronda the Forest Saver steel structure can be utilized as a roof structure for a permanent house of African shape.
- Roof supporting walls can be made of bricks or mud blocks/cement reinforced mud blocks
- The roofing can be thatched
- The main advantages of this house are that it is reasonable, long lasting and termite resistant
- Cost effective roof structure
- For covering the roof the polyester/ PVC cover can also be utilized
2. Life span/ maintenance
- The heavy- duty steel structure and polyester/ PVC tarpaulin are long lasting materials
- The life span of the steel structure is almost unlimited
- The life span of the polyester/ PVC tarpaulin is at least 25 years. There is no need for routine maintenance
- Both materials specified are extremely heavy-duty materials. If any mechanical damage (vandalism) occurs, it can easily be repaired
- The possible deformations of tarpaulin following direct contact with a flame can also easily be repaired by spare tarpaulin glued over the original one
3. Construction
The structure consists of bent vertical poles connected at the top to the chief element and 2 horizontal rings
Temporary, re-locatable house
- For construction of the temporary, re-locatable house the vertical poles are inserted into 30 cm deep holes
- The cover is placed onto the structure, with a bottom part that can be rolled up for better ventilation during hot periods of the day
Permanent house
- The foundation ring of concrete or cement blocks should be made to support the external wall
- The external wall can be made of bricks or cement reinforced mud blocks
- The heavy duty steel structure supports thatching of renewable local materials or polyester/ PVC cover
4. Construction time
The Ronda the Forest Saver 20 m2 unit (structure) can be erected within 45 minutes. Dismantling does not require more than 20 minutes.
5. Manpower
No special skills are needed for the erection of the Ronda the Forest Saver structure. 3- 5 workers can do the work.
6. Transportation, volume
The volume of one complete Ronda the Forest Saver (20 m2 living area) is 0,2 m3. This includes the steel structure and cover.
250 pieces of steel structure can be transported in 1 20' container.
500 pieces of polyester/ PVC cover can be transported in 1 20' container.
7. Production capacity
It is possible to produce at least 100 complete units (steel structure and cover) weekly. The production rate can be increased if needed.
8. Prices
The Ronda the Forest Saver can be delivered at reasonable prices related to the size of the project.
9. Defect liability and guarantee period
A limited guarantee is given against any/ all defects in workmanship and materials used for a period of 12 months.
10. Terms of payment
Irrevocable Letter of Credit addressed to the Supplier`s bank is to be included with the purchase order. Payable against the presentation of shipping documents including Clean Report of Findings drawn up by any approved Cargo Control Companies
